The DEAC Season begins September 3, 2024 & concludes with the Student Production weekend tentatively scheduled June 13 & 14, 2025.
Tuition
DEAC monthly tuition is based upon the total number of hours the student/family dances per week. The annual fee is divided into ten (10) monthly installments paid the first of each month; from the point of registration through June. Each class is guaranteed 35 lessons. All dance families must pay June tuition regardless of recital participation. Our Current Calendar offers 36+ lessons per class & solos to accommodate for snow days & unexpected cancellations. Calendar subject to change.
Tuition is due the 1st of the month and courtesy is given to the 10th of the month. Payment is made on our parent portal or payable via check or cash during office hours. Customers can choose between 2 easy methods: monthly auto debit on the 5th or monthly self-pay. Access to the parent portal can be found on our website at www.DancExplosionArts.com under the Online Parent Portal tab. A notice to all customers that select auto debit: If the 5th of the month falls on a SUNDAY, the payment will be auto debit the following day. In addition, transactions that are not monthly tuition related including costume payments or recital package will NOT be auto debited. Families must log on to make additional payments
Contact and Information on the Parent Portal
Please take a moment now to review your child’s information on the Parent Portal including contacts, emergency contacts, allergies/medications and medical concerns. Items of note to review also include classes and t-shirt sizes. They are not auto populated. IT IS IMPERATIVE to have the contact and emergency contact information. We would like to be prepared in the event of any circumstance. All information is valid and of note.
Triple Threat Discount Information
A Triple Threat dancer is one that is enrolled in three classes. Triple threat credits are not automatically populated by our system. Therefore, credits will be inputted into the system and be available on your account as we progress through the month of September.
Events
The studio has two main showcases. This year, we have the Winter Performance, Frozen on December 21st and our End of Year Student Showcases entitled Written in the Stars on June 13th & 14th. These dates are subject to change. Not all classes will be performing for the full duration of these events.
Our December production is a small-scale event designed to give our dancers stage experience. The costuming is simplified with what we have in stock in our costume closet as well as do-it-yourself designs.
Our June Production preparation will be slightly different this year with one week of in-house costume dress rehearsals during REGULAR CLASS TIME at DEAC the week of June 4th-10th. This will then be followed by a two-day technical rehearsal at the Greater Pittsburgh Masonic Center June 11th & 12th in scheduled time slots. Tech rehearsals are great and necessary for dancers to become familiar to lights, entrances, exits, location of bathrooms, and backstage staffing.
DEAC will continue a three-show format:
- Show 1 Friday Evening, June 13th for mixed classes level 1-7
- Show 2 Saturday Matinee June 14th for Intro, Pre, and Primary students
- Show 3 Saturday Evening June 14th for mixed classes level 1-7.Event formats & dates are subject to change based upon performance requirements and duration.
*The June production will have costume fees due in October and final payments in Feb. Additional information below*

PARKING & TRAFFIC
As you know, Babcock and Three degree are very busy road ways and our studio is busy particularly at the 4:50-6:25 hours. Give yourself time to travel to and from the studio. If your dancer does not require assistance entering the studio, drop offs are welcome and encouraged. Please do not park in front of the door way. It is a danger to our dancers exiting out of the building. There is parking available across the street for parents that are coming in without children, parents that want to sit in the car, or those with older children. A crosswalk and button for crossing is located at the intersection. We request families limit parents and guardians to 1 per family in the studio when possible We like our dancers and families to feel like they have space in our main lobby. The upstairs atrium is always great for our Studio 3 students and parents as well.
THINGS TO REMEMBER:
- Holidays have been taken into consideration. There are no credits for missed classes.
- Dancers are placed in levels according to their experience & ability. Placement is done with attention to the child’s progress to ensure a fulfilling and beneficial dance education. We are constantly evaluating placement to ensure proper goal setting & success by our students in the event a modification needs to take place a member of our team will reach out.
